I think hybrid Deception, aka Waka 2.0 (0/31/15) can be viable in ranked. However, the damage will be lackluster compared to full Deception. Yeah, full Deception is quite viable imo. Even if it gets focused, it has the tools to escape / delay damage long enough. We should be happy. Deception is the way the class was meant to be played.

Deception is all about building up stacks so you can use your special Discharge ability - while taking good advantage of stealth during combat. Stealth, allowing you to sneak past enemies. Mind Trap, cause an enemy to fall asleep while stealthed, allowing you and your group to sneak past. Phantom Stride, leap to an enemy.

Deception is the spike dps class and my preferred for solo combat. Played well, the damage is just massive. Played not optimally, the damage is extremely good. If you PvP, this is the preferred spec of the two. Hatred is the dot spec, so it theoretically is better for longer fights.
